With this conference Transform!Danmark will combine our concern for the political insufficiency to deal with climate change and environmental deterioration with our concern directed at the increasing global militarization and rearmament.
The Arctic, Greenland in particular, are fast moving towards becoming another centre of clashes between the economic and military interests of the US and other world powers and are crucial in these developments. The conference will include analyses and discussion on the recent security deal between Greenland, Denmark, and the USA.

Speakers: 

– Steen Folke, former MP for the left party VS (Venstresocialisterne), 1965-84, board member of ActionAid Internationals, co-founder of “No to Rearmament – Yes to Sustainable Security Policy” 

– Ole Wæver,  Professor of International Politics at the Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen
