Transform Danmark og Global Aktion inviterer til konference om ulighed, “Take the power from the 1%”, hvor eksperter fra rundt omkring i verden vil give deres perspektiv p\u00e5 \u00e5rsagerne bag global ulighed, og hvordan vi kan skabe bedre samfund for de mange og ikke kun de f\u00e5. Alle er velkomne<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vi kommer til at diskutere, hvordan kampene i det Globale Nord og det Globale Syd er forbundne, og hvordan vi kan g\u00f8re globale problemstillinger tydeligere i vores lokale kampe.
Global ulighed har nemlig n\u00e5et et absurd niveau. 85 af verdens rigeste mennesker ejer nu lige s\u00e5 meget som de fattigste 3,5 milliarder mennesker. Og trenden forts\u00e6tter. En voksende del af verdens rigdom koncentreres hos en mindre og mindre gruppe mennesker, mens de mest s\u00e5rbare af verdens befolkning lider under hungersn\u00f8d, fattigdom, klimakatastrofer, krig og elendighed.
Men hvorfor er de rige s\u00e5 rige? Hvordan rejser vi os mod de magtfulde, alt i mens de virker til at have overtaget? Og vigtigst af alt; hvordan ser en anderledes verden ud?
Kom med, n\u00e5r gr\u00e6srodsaktivister og talere fra hele verden diskuterer disse sp\u00f8rgsm\u00e5l og kommer deres bud p\u00e5 svar.
Hvorfor? Fordi vi har en verden at vinde!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vasna Ramasar<\/a>: Lektor i Human Ecology p\u00e5 Lund Universitet. Om at im\u00f8deg\u00e5 ulighed gennem en dekolonial tilgang til global, retf\u00e6rdig omstilling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christoph Ellersgaard<\/a>: Magt- og eliteforsker og professor p\u00e5 CBS. Om magtdynamikkerne i Danmark, og hvordan vi sikrer mere demokrati og medindflydelse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lebohang Pheko<\/a>: National Planning Commissioner<\/a> i Sydafrika og forsker i Trade Collective. Om uligheden mellem det Globale Nord og det Globale Syd, hvordan den vestlige handelspolitik styrker denne ulighed, og hvorfor feministisk \u00f8konomi er et alternativ til denne verdensorden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrick Bond<\/a>: Professor i sociologi p\u00e5 Johannesburg Universitet. Om neoliberalismens d\u00e5rligdomme for global retf\u00e6rdighed og gr\u00f8n omstilling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Priya Sahni-Nicholas<\/a>: Co-Executive Director i The Equality Trust. Om de strukturelle \u00e5rsager til ulighed i Vesten, og hvordan disse kan afmonteres til fordel for et mere lige og retf\u00e6rdigt samfund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transform Danmark and Global Amtion invites to a conference about inequality, \u201cTake the power from the 1%\u201d. Experts from around the world will give their perspective on the structures behind global inequality, and how we can build better societies for the benefit of all and not just the few.<\/strong> Everyone is welcome!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We will discuss how the struggles in the Global North and the Global South are connected, and how we can make solutions clearer in our local struggles.
Global inequality has reached absurd levels. We are now at a point where 85 of the world\u2019s richest people own as much as the bottom 3,5 billion people. The trend is continuing, as a growing amount of the world’s wealth is concentrated at a smaller and smaller group of people, leaving the most vulnerable of the global population to suffer from hunger, poverty, climate catastrophes, wars and misery.
But why are the rich so rich? How do we stand up to the powerful when they seem to have the upper hand? And most importantly, what does an alternative world order look like?
Join us, as grassroot organizers and speakers from the Global North and the Global South discuss these questions and offer their answers to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why? Because we have a world to win!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speakers:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vasna Ramasar<\/a>: Lecturer in Human Ecology at Lund University. Will focus on addressing inequality through a decolonial approach to global just transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christoph Ellersgaard<\/a>: Power and elite researcher and professor at CBS. Will focus on the power dynamics in Denmark and how we ensure a more democratic society and a decentralized participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lebohang Pheko<\/a>: National Planning Commissioner<\/a> in South Africa and researcher at Trade Collective. Will focus on the inequality between the Global North and the Global South, how Western trade policy enhances this inequality, and why feminist economics offers an alternative to the current world order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrick Bond<\/a>: Professor of Sociology at the University of Johannesburg. Will focus on the ills of neoliberalism for global justice and the green transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Priya Sahni-Nicholas<\/a>: Co-Executive Director of The Equality Trust. Will focus on the structural causes of inequality in the West and how these can be dismantled in favor of a more equal and just society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
