The conference has been cancelled due to the venue closing down caused by the corona virus<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The climate crisis calls for action. How to achieve concrete and more ambitious goals in climate and environmental policies? Are the measures and goals adopted by governments and institutions much more than a greening of Capitalism ? And how much can be achieved by green Capitalism\/green growth seen om the background of the real challenges of climate warming ? Some 30 years ago everybody talked about the environmental issue, but in the end, it was absorbed by neoliberal policy. Is this happening again?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

How compatible is the European Green Deal with trade agreements?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently\nthe European Commission is negotiating Trade Agreements with many\ncountries and regions. A number of agreements are already concluded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nsuccess of these Agreements is usually measured by calculating growth\nrates of the gross national product in Europe, and the increase of\nexports and profits of large companies. This growth occurs at the\nexpense of 800 million people who are left behind starving, and also\nat the expense of climate and environment. Instead of furthering the\ngreed for profit, the realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable\nDevelopment has to replace the original logic of free trade and has\nto be the new benchmark for success of policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
